11/10 Snyder now a free agent
Outfielder Brad Snyder cleared waivers and was outrighted off the Cubs’ 40-man roster. He is now a free agent. The Cubs’ 40-man roster is now at 36 players. Snyder, 28, appeared in 12 games with the Cubs, and batted .185 with five RBIs. In 132 games at Triple-A Iowa, he hit .308 with 25 homers, 37 doubles and drove in 106 runs. A left-handed hitter, he has a career .279 average in eight Minor League seasons.

Why was he put on waivers??? Are not his numbers good enough to at least keep on the roster? Similar to LaHairs right? Pretty sad but the Cubs could have easily competed with the PIRATES the last three years with quite a few of these minor leagures at less than half of Hendry’s wasted payroll/superstars. And at the same time a couple of them might have developed into legit big leaguers. Maybe a handful of prospects whether they are babies like Castro or OLD MEN (lol) like LaHair will get a FAIR shot in the big leagues if the new GM sees some value in utililizing home grown postion players in order to put more money into the starting pithcing staff which currently sucks. How do you think the Brewers and Phillies got into the play-offs? EXCELLENT PITCHING with good enough offense. If Pena is brought back instead of saving money with LaHair this team is in for a long season next year….again.
