Kerry Wood received the loudest ovation at Friday’s opening ceremonies at the Cubs Convention at the Hilton Chicago. The right-hander, back after signing a one-year, $1.5 million deal, was introduced last among the current Cubs. The late Ron Santo also was cheered. His playing career and broadcast career were highlighted during the season in review video that was shown in the grand ballroom. Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts said the team would announce Saturday how it plans to celebrate Santo this coming season.
