2/3 Caribbean series update
Cubs prospect Marco Carillo picked up the win in Mexico’s 4-3, 15-inning victory Wednesday over the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series. Carillo entered the game in the 15th with the bases loaded and two outs and got Michael Martinez to ground out and end the inning. Iker Franco hit a walkoff RBI single with two outs in the 15th for the win. The game lasted 5 hours 22 minutes. Cubs prospect Lou Montanez went 0-for-4 for Puerto Rico, which lost, 5-3, to Venezuela.
On Thursday, Venezuela plays the Dominican Republic, while Puerto Rico and Mexico square off. Games are being played in Puerto Rico, where it’s 84 degrees and sunny.
