2/3 Mother Nature & Wrigley
The wind from Tuesday’s historic blizzard knocked roof panels off the Wrigley Field press box. Cubs historian Ed Hartig couldn’t find any other blizzard-related incidents at the ballpark but did come up with these, courtesy of Mother Nature:
* Games were called because of snow in 1921, 1967, 2003 and 2007.
* June 2, 1950: Lightning struck the Cubs’ clubhouse down the left field line as several of the players were changing.
* July 21, 1956: Lightning struck one of the pennant poles atop the grandstand. The pole shattered, scattering debris on the fans below.
