4/19 Cubs lineup, weather permitting
It’s raining, windy and cold at Wrigley Field, but the Cubs did post their lineup for Tuesday night vs. the Padres. If they can’t play, there’s talk of a day-night doubleheader on Wednesday. The other option is to play on June 23, which is a mutal off day. The Cubs have Thursday off but the Padres open a series against the Phillies in San Diego.
Cubs GM Jim Hendry and team president Crane Kenney went to look at the field shortly after 3 p.m. CT.
If you’re optimistic, here’s the lineup:
SS Castro
2B Barney
CF Byrd
3B Ramirez
1B Pena
LF Soriano
RF Colvin
C Soto
P Russell
– Carrie Muskat

NOTES: Tampa Bay LF Sam Fuld, the replacement for All-Star Carl Crawford, received high praise from Maddon. ”There’s no drop off,” Maddon said. ”Sam’s playing that level of defense right now. All the different things he’s doing defensively, I can’t say that Carl’s better.” Crawford signed with Boston during the offseason. …
Duh. Duh. Duh. Hendry’s intuition or genius, whatever you want to call it paying off again. Let’s hope Garza pans out. Ooops, there’s that go to word again…”hope”.
I would like to see a lefty in 3 hole or even Soriano with Star always on base barney the same. park a-ram in 4 hole makes team’s not be able to shift on Pena,Colvin and Soriano should see some better pitches?
Starlin Castro is the best ss in game?
