4/24 Minor League report
Ramon Ortiz gaveup three runs, two earned, on five hits over seven innings in Iowa’s 3-2 loss to Memphis on Saturday. With a runner on third, Adron Chambers dropped a bunt in the seventh which Ortiz fielded and threw to first. The run scored to break a 2-2 tie. Ortiz struck out five. Matt Camp had three hits and Marquez Smith hit his first homer.
Nate Samson and Josh Vitters each hit two-run homers to lift Tennessee to a 7-3 victory over Jacksonville. Marwin Gonzalez had three hits and one RBI and Samson drove in three runs.
Junior Lake went 4-for-5 with a double and a homer to lead Daytona over Dunedin. Lake also had three RBIs. Jake Optiz had three hits, all doubles.
Greg Rohan hit a walkoff two-run single in the seventh to give Peoria a 3-2 win in the second game of a doubleheader over Beloit. Beloit won the opener, 5-2, as Cam Greathouse gave up five runs, two earned, on five hits over 4 1/3 innings.
