4/27 Minor League report

Jay Jackson gave up one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings in Iowa’s 4-3 loss to Memphis. Jackson did not get a decision. He also went 3-for-3 with two doubles. Lou Montanez extended his hitting streak to five games and Bryan LaHair had two hits, his sixth multi-hit game of the year. Jackson threw 89 pitches, 50 for strikes. He could be a candidate for the Cubs rotation. Chicago needs a fifth starter Sunday unless James Russell gets another start.

Trey McNutt gave up one run on seven hits over five innings in Tennessee’s 6-1 win over Jacksonville. He struck out four. Matt Spencer had four hits and two RBIs and Ryan Flaherty hd three hits and scored two runs.

Daytona had Tuesday off and opens a three-game series against Tampa on Wednesday.

Austin Kirk gave up one run on four hits over six innings in Peoria’s 10-1 win over Clinton. Kirk struck out six. Greg Rohan had three hits and Matt Szczur had two hits, extending his hitting streak to five games.
