5/2 Minor League report
Jay Jackson gave up four runs on five hits over 4 1/3 innings in Iowa’s 7-5 victory over Omaha on Sunday. Jackson did not get a decision. Brad Snyder hit his second homer. Lou Montanez extended his hitting strek to eight games with a three-hit game.
Trey McNutt gave up two runs on four hits over six innings but took the loss in Tennessee’s 4-1 loss to Carolina. Marwin Gonzalez hit his second homer, a solo shot in the eighth.
Aaron Kurcz threw five scoreless innings, giving up two hits, in Daytona’s 2-1, 10-inning loss to Dunedin in the first game of a doubleheader. Daytona lost the second game as well, losing 3-1. Evan Crawford extended his hitting streak to five games, going 2-for-3.
Austin Kirk gave up two runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings in Peoria’s 4-3 loss to Burlington. Richard Jones hit a solo homer and Matt Szczur extended his hitting streak to nine games.
