5/3 Minor League report
Robert Whitenack gave up four runs on seven hits over five innings to help Double-A Tennessee beat Carolina, 9-4. Matt Spencer and Josh Vitters both homered and finished with two RBIs each. Marwin Gonzalez had three hits and two RBIs.
Robert Coello gave up four runs on six hits over four innings in Triple-A Iowa’s 5-0 loss to Round Rock. Coello struck out three.
Nelson Perez hit a grand slam, his third homer of the season, to help Class A Daytona beat Dunedin, 7-5. Junior Lake had three hits, an RBI and a stolen base.
Rubi Silva had three hits but it wasn’t enough as Class A Peoria lost, 3-2, to Burlington. Robinson Lopez gave up two runs on five hits over six innings.
