5/9 Doug Davis to Iowa

Doug Davis was called up to Triple-A Iowa on Monday and expected to make his first start Tuesday. Davis signed a Minor League contract with the Cubs in April. He has pitched for the Rangers, Blue Jays, Brewers and D-Backs. The left-hander enjoyed most of his success with the Brewers, winning a combined 37 games from 2003-2006 and pitching over 200 innings three straight seasons starting in 2004. Last Thursday, he started for Class A Daytona and struck out seven over 6 2/3 scoreless innings.
