5/15 Minor League report
Ramon Ortiz gave up five hits, two walks and struck out seven over six innings in Iowa’s 6-5 loss to Reno Saturday night. Chris Carpenter had a rough night. He took over for Ortiz and a ball deflected off his glove and then his right ear. He had to leave the game and needed stitches. Lou Montanez had three hits and was batting .369, and Brad Snyder also had three hits and was hitting .297.
Alberto Cabrera gave up seven runs, five earned, on nine hits and three walks over 3 2/3 innings in Tennessee’s 9-1 loss to Chattanooga.
Brett Wallach gave up four runs on five hits over seven innings in Daytona’s 4-1 loss to Fort Myers. Michael Burgess and Michael Brenly each had two hits.
Peoria pitchers walked nine Kane County batters and committed three errors that led to four unearned runs in a 7-3 loss. Starter Cam Greathouse walked seven over 3 2/3 innings, and gave up three hits that led to six runs, but only three earned.
