5/16 Cashner to have MRI
Cubs pitcher Andrew Cashner will undergo an MRI on his right shoulder after feeling tightness on Monday, which prompted the team to scratch a scheduled start. Cashner, on the DL since April 6 with a strained right rotator cuff, was to have thrown two innings in Mesa, Ariz., at extended Spring Training.
Meanwhile, Randy Wells will make a Minor League rehab start on Tuesday with Class A Peoria and if all goes well, his next start would be Sunday for Triple-A Iowa. He could be back with the big league team next week. Wells is on the DL with a strained right forearm.
