6/3 Gretzky to Cubs?
The Cubs are always looking for the Great One. Maybe it’s Wayne Gretzky’s son Trevor. He’ll work out in Arizona for Cubs scouts in advance of the First-Year Player Draft on Saturday. Trevor batted .341 with two home runs and 33 RBIs his junior year at Westlake Village Oaks Christian High School (Calif.). He suffered a partially torn labrum in his throwing shoulder in the third game in September and was limited to DH duties his senior year. Last October, he signed a letter of intent to play college baseball at San Diego State.
“To be drafted is one of my dreams since I saw my dad holding up jerseys when he was traded,” Trevor said in February when he took part in a scouting combine. “To be in a moment like that would be amazing.”
