6/17 Cubs lineup vs Yankees
Blake DeWitt is starting at second and Koyie Hill is catching Friday for the Cubs in Game 1 of their three-game Interleague series against the Yankees. Doug Davis will get the start. He’s 3-2 with a 6.28 ERA in six career starts against the Yankees, and hasn’t faced them since June 14, 2007. Here’s the lineup:
RF Fukudome
SS Castro
2B DeWitt
3B Ramirez
1B Pena
LF Soriano
CF Campana
C Hill
P Davis
– Carrie Muskat

This from MLB TradeRumors:
•Alfonso Soriano told Levine he expects to stay with the Cubs (he’s signed through 2014), but if the team wants to trade him he wouldn’t stay. Soriano, who is owed about $64MM through ’14, has a full no-trade clause.
Maybe Hendry can trade him if he eats about oh, I dunno….64 MILLION DOLLARS!!
Really what team’s GM wouldn’t salavate at the opportunity to have an aging, injury-prone, defensive stud like Soriano patrolling left field? All that for JUST 64 Mil, what a deal!!
Hey, if Fukodome has a 3 for 4 “career” day every day for the rest of the season so Quade can justify playing him and kiss up to Hendry at the same time then there is a chance the Cubs can
overtake the Dreaded Pirates. All the while, no World Series, no player development and no Fukodome in 2012 so they must be playing him in hopes of trading him???
