7/9 Minor League report – Thursday’s games

Chris Rusin gave up five runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings in Iowa’s 7-6 loss to New Orleans. Brad Snyder and Bryan LaHair each homered. LaHair had three RBIs, and he will show off his home run swing in the Triple-A All-Star home run derby. He’s averaging a homer every 12 at-bats.

Brett Jackson had three hits but it wasn’t enough as Tennessee lost 4-2 to Montgomery. Jackson is batting .440 in his last seven games. Kyle Smit pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Daytona’s game against Tampa was canceled because of rain.

Richard Jones went 4-for-4, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the third, his 15th, but it wasn’t enough as Peoria lost to Beloit, 10-4.
Benjamin Wells gave up one run on one hit and two walks over five innings in Boise’s 9-5 in over Everett. Brian Smith didn’t fare as well, giving up five runs on five hits over two innings in Mesa’s 17-2 loss to the Giants.
