7/14 Minor League report

The Iowa Cubs, with new additions Brett Jackson and Ryan Flaherty, get underway Thursday, playing host to Oklahoma City.

Nate Samson, Josh Vitters and Steve Clevenger each had two hits in Tennessee’s 10-2 loss to Mississippi. Matt Loosen took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits and five walks over five innings.

Angel Guzman gave up two runs on four hits and one walk over 1 2/3 innings in Daytona’s 4-3 loss to Fort Myers. Logan Watkins and Justin Bour each had two hits. Matt Szczur went 1-for-3 with a walk and scored two runs in his first game with the Daytona team.

Ryan Cuneo had three hits and one RBIs in Peoria’s 4-2 win over Lake County. Rubi Silva had two hits and Alvaro Sosa picked up the win in relief.

Boise was held to three hits in a 4-2 loss to Vancouver. Reggie Golden had a hit and one RBIs.

Mesa beat the Rangers, 4-3, in 10 innings. Brian Smith started and threw four shutout innings. Eduardo Gonzalez had four hits and three stolen bases.
