7/15 Cubs sign David Bush

The Cubs have tried to bolster their pitching this season by adding veterans Doug Davis, Braden Looper, Todd Wellemeyer, Rodrigo Lopez and Ramon Ortiz. On Friday, they signed veteran right-hander David Bush to a Minor League contract and he will report to Triple-A Iowa.

Bush, 31, was 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in 17 games this year with the Rangers, including three starts. In 37 1/3 innings, he gave up 47 hits, walked nine, and struck out 23. Texas released him on July 6. The right-hander has pitched for the Blue Jays, the Brewers and Rangers, and is 56-69 with a 4.70 ERA in his career. He did post back to back 12-win seasons in 2006 and ’07 with the Brewers.

His last outing this year was June 30 when he pitched one inning in relief against the Astros, giving up two runs on three hits.

OMG. Are you kidding us Carrie? Money (any amount) is being allowed to be spent on any player? Really, just what is Hendry trying to accomplish? Hopefully this is the last straw. What an embarrassing and humiliating way to operate a ball club. One thrown dart after another. Ridiculous.

More Garbage
Maybe now Hendry even wants himself fired

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Joey, I must confess this one surprised me, too.

Carrie, “Father Joeydafish here”. Your confession is greatly appreciated and vindicates yourself against any commentators thinking you are too soft when it comes to writing about the Cubs shortcomings. I’m sure the Lord understands your job/predicament. NOW my child, you AND every Cubs fan must say 103 Hail Marys and 103 Our Fathers every day until 104 years comes to pass then one must say 104 Hail Marys and 104 Our Fathers so on and so forth as PRAYER may be the only
way out of this pergatory we call Cubfandom. Any extra prayers specifically toward the benign removal of Hendry as GM will be counted toward your/our salvation. So it is written, so it shall be done.
