7/16 Minor League report
Jay Jackson gave up one run on six hits over seven innings in Iowa’s 7-1 win over Oklahoma City, snapping an eight-game losing streak. Bryan LaHair and Ryan Flaherty, recently promoted from Double-A Tennessee, homered in the game. Brett Jackson went 2-for-5 with a double and triple.
Ryan Searle gave up four runs on five hits over three innings in Tennessee’s 5-4 loss to Mississippi. Jae-Hoon Ha had three hits and a stolen base and Rebel Ridling had two hits and scored two runs.
Brett Wallach gave up five runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings and took the loss as Daytona dropped a 5-4 decision to Fort Myers. Matt Szczur and Rafael Valdes each had two hits.
Richard Jones hit his 17th home run to help Peoria beat Lake County, 6-5, in 10 innings. Jones also hit a double and Elliot Soto added two hits and a stolen base. Yohan Gonzalez notched the win in relief despite blowing a save. 27th round pick Taiwan Easterling has been added to the Chiefs’ roster from Mesa.
Paul Holiman hit his sixth homer to help Boise beat Vancouver, 7-6, in 11 innings. His six home runs are the most by a Boise player since 2008.
