8/3 Minor League report
Brett Jackson led off the game with his fourth homer, but that was Iowa’s only run in 2-1 loss Tuesday night to Memphis. Dave Bush gave up one run on five hits over 6 1/3 inings. Memphis scored the winning run in the eighth when Robert Coello walked Adron Chambers, who then advanced on a bunt hit and error by Bryan LaHair. Chambers scored on a sac fly. Jackson now is batting .250.
Trey McNutt picked up a win on his birthday as Tennessee beat Birmingham, 10-5. McNutt gave up three runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out five. He’s now 2-4 with a 4.79 ERA. Jim Adduci had four hits, Jae-Hoon Ha had three hits and three RBIs, and Blake Lalli had two hits and three RBIs.
Daytona had Tuesday off.
Rubi Silva hit a walkoff RBI triple to lift Peoria to a 4-3 win over Burlington. Tied 3-3 in the ninth, Taiwan Easterling reached on an infield single that deflected off the pitcher’s glove and ended up back at the plate. Silva then tripled, driving in Easterling. Eric Jokisch threw five scoreless innings, and now is 7-3 with a 2.93 ERA.
Reggie Golden had three RBIs and Zeke DeVoss drove in two runs to help Boise beat Salem-Keizer, 8-5. Willengton Cruz gave up one earned run on six hits over five innings.
Marco Hernandez had two hits, including his first homer, to extend his hitting streak to 10 games in Mesa’s 9-3 win over the Angels. Eduardo Gonzalez had three hits and two RBIs.
