8/6 Minor League report
Jay Jackson gave up three runs on seven hits over six innings in Iowa’s 3-2 loss to Fresno. Jackson now is 5-12 with a 6.22 ERA. Brett Jackson extended his hitting streak to five games with a double and one RBI. Scott Maine worked a scoreless inning in relief.
Tennessee’s game against Huntsville was rained out, and the two teams were slated to play a doubleheader on Saturday.
Abner Abreu, acquired from the Indians in the Kosuke Fukudome trade, hit his first home run in Daytona’s 11-6 loss to Lakeland. Greg Rohan also homered, hitting his fourth. He finished with two RBIs. Matt Loosen took the loss, giving up 10 runs — four earned — on 11 hits over three innings.
Austin Kirk gave up one run on four hits over six innings in Peoria’s 6-2 win over Burlington. Taiwan Easterling had four hits, two RBIs and two stolen bases. Alvaro Sosa picked up the win in relief.
Jose Rosario threw four shutout innings in Boise’s 6-0 loss to Salem-Keizer. Yaniel Cabezas had two hits.
Hunter Ackerman gave up two runs on seven hits over three innings in Mesa’s 5-3 loss to the Giants. Neftali Rosario hit his second homer, extending his hitting streak to 10 games.
