8/7 Minor League report
Casey Coleman gave up two runs on seven hits over seven innings as Iowa beat Fresno, 3-2, for the franchise’s 3,000th victory. Steve Clevenger delivered a pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth for the win. Justin Berg got the win in relief.
Ryan Searle gave up two runs on four hits over six innings in Tennessee’s 5-2 win over Huntsville in the first game of a doubleheader. Josh Vitters had two hits, including a two-run homer, and finished with three RBIs. Vitters is batting .282. Nelson Perez also had two hits and hit his seventh home run. In the second game, Vitters again had two hits and two RBIs but it wasn’t enough as Tennessee lost, 3-2.
Jake Optiz hit his fifth home run in Daytona’s 5-4 loss to Clearwater. Casey Harman gave up four runs on nine hits over five innings.
Peoria scored five runs in the eighth to beat Cedar Rapids, 8-3. Ben Klafczynski had three hits nd Taiwan Easterling extended his hitting streak to seven games and had two RBIs.
Austin Reed gave up three runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings in Boise’s 10-5 win over Salem-Keizer. Rafael Lopez had three hits and one RBIs.
Marco Hernandez had two hits and two RBIs in Mesa’s 9-5 win over the Brewers. Hayden Simpson gave up one hit in one inning.
