8/10 Minor League report
Ryan Flaherty homered to power Iowa to a 14-7 victory over Sacramento on Tuesday night. Brett Jackson had three hits, Bryan LaHair had three hits and three RBIs, and DJ LeMahieu had three hits and two RBIs. Robert Coello picked up the win in relief, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
Austin Bibens-Dirkx threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings in Tennessee’s 8-0 win over Huntsville in the first game of a doubleheader. Bibens-Dirkx struck out six. Rebel Ridling had two hits, including a home run and a double. In the second game, Ridling hit his 16th homer of the season and drove in two runs to lead the Smokies to a 4-2 win. Rafael Dolis converted his 12th save.
Daytona’s game at Lakeland was postponed because of rain and the two teams will play a doubleheader Wednesday. Angel Guzman will start the first game.
Brett Wallach gave up two runs on three hits over five innings in Peoria’s 3-1 loss to Cedar Rapids. Rubi Silva had two hits, including a triple, and Anthony Giansanti and Micah Gibbs each had two-hit games.
Yao-Lin Wang gave up two runs on two hits and struck out eight over five innings in Boise’s 3-0 loss to Tri-City. Reggie Golden had two hits.
