9/2 Vitters to AFL
Josh Vitters will replace Brett Jackson on the Mesa Solar Sox roster in the Arizona Fall League. Vitters, who was the Cubs’ No. 1 pick in 2007, was listed as an outfielder on the AFL roster but was expected to play left field, first base and third base. What’s important are more at-bats. The switch does not mean Jackson, the team’s top pick in 2009, will be called up to the big league team. Jackson has another commitment, which will be announced later.
