9/5 Gaub, LeMahieu & Montanez to join Cubs
The Cubs are expected to add more players from Triple-A Iowa now that the team’s season ended on Monday. According to the Des Moines Register, pitcher John Gaub, infielder DJ LeMahieu and outfielder Lou Montanez will be added to the big league roster. Gaub was acquired from the Indians in the Mark DeRosa deal on Dec. 31, 2008, and has never pitched in the big leagues. LeMahieu, a second-round pick in 2009, and Montanez, who was the Cubs’ first-round selection in 2000, were both called up during the season. LeMahieu batted .243 in 23 games while Montanez hit .239 in 25 games. Expect official word on Tuesday.

Why is it the Cubs do not bring up Chris Robinson? A share duty catcher in Triple A ball. He finished with a .316 batting average, is an excellent defensive catcher with a nice arm. He has been the MVP of the team, a Triple A All-star and yet the Cubs will not bring him up and give him a chance. What is Hill batting? Can we not look at other players who could help us out over the years? It is so frustrating to see the same thing year after year regardless of who is coaching and who is GM/Owner.
