Starlin Castro enters Monday’s game riding a 12-game hitting streak, which is a career high. He now has four hitting streaks of at least 10 games this year, and is the first Cubs player to do that since Mark Grace had four in 1992.

* Castro and Tony Campana are the first Cubs teammates with 20 stolen bases each since Shawon Dunston and Samy Sosa each swiped at least 2o in 1992.

* Bryan LaHair has hit safely in all seven games he’s played since he made his Cubs debut Sept. 4.

* In the Cubs’ last 12 games, the starting pitchers have a 3.01 ERA and nine quality starts. In the second half, Cubs starters have a 4.20 ERA compared to a 5.29 ERA before the All-Star break.
