9/16 Smokies lose 1-0 in 11 innings

Tennessee is down 2-0 in the best of five Southern League Championship Series after losing 1-0 in 11 innings Thursday to Mobile. Ollie Linton hit a RBI single in the 11th for the game’s only run. Mobile can clinch the championship with a win in Game 3, to be played Saturday at Smokies Park. Tennessee relief pitcher Rafael Dolis (0-1) took the loss after giving up Linton’s game-winning single. The Smokies collected six hits, led by Blake Lalli, who went 2-for-4. Brooks Raley gave up one hit over six innings for Tennessee, and struck out five. The Smokies also turned four inning-ending double plays. Ryan Searle is slated to start Game 3 for Tennessee against lefty Tyler Skaggs.
