Josh Vitters went 3-for-5 and DJ LeMahieu 2-for-5, and each drove in one run, in the Mesa Solar Sox’s 5-4 loss to Salt River in Arizona Fall League play Saturday. Junior Lake, another Cubs prospect playing for the Mesa team, was 1-for-3. Andrew Cashner made his first appearance and struck out one in one inning. Chris Carpenter took the loss, giving up an unearned run in the eighth. Vitters is now batting .381. Sunday is an off day for the AFL, and on Monday, the Solar Sox play a night game in Scottsdale.
