10/13 LaHair & AFL update
Bryan LaHair opened the Venezuelan Winter League with a bang on Wednesday. LaHair went 4-for-4, hitting two home runs and driving in three runs to lift Magallanes Navegantes to a 14-8 win over Zulia in the opener. LaHair, who hit 38 homers for Triple-A Iowa, finished a triple shy of the cycle. first game.
* Junior Lake was 2-for-4 and DJ LeMahieu 1-for-4 in Mesa’s 6-2 loss to Peoria in the Arizona Fall League Wednesday. Chris Carpenter gave up one run on two hits and struck out one in one inning in relief. The Solar Sox travel to Peoria Thursday for a rematch with the Javelinas.

Anybody think Epstein will choose to save MILLIONS of dollars and put LaHair at 1B instead of bringing back the wet noodle Pena? Assuming of course that Fielder/Pujols are also not options because of the price and length of contract. I for one would not want to sit through anohter season watching the great club house presence Pena tread water with a terrible RISP average while adding to his personal home run totals.
