11/14 McLeod to watch Cespedes
Jason McLeod and some of the Cubs other scouts will go to the Dominican Republic to watch Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. McLeod, the senior vice president of scouting and player development, was scheduled to travel on Thursday. Cespedes is considered by some to be the best player to come out of Cuba. The 26-year-old right-handed hitting outfielder set a Cuban record with 33 homers this season. He defected from Cuba and was on the Dominican. Cespedes isn’t the only player the Cubs staff will see, but the one with the highest profile.
