3/7 Cubs early notebook
Paul Maholm threw a bullpen session on Wednesday and will throw another on Friday before he’s inserted into the Cubs’ rotation and starts his first Cactus League game. Maholm was slowed this spring by the flu. “Everything’s good,” he said Wednesday.
Looking ahead to the Cubs games, it’ll be Jeff Samardzija Wednesday against the Royals, Chris Volstad on Thursday vs. the Mariners; Travis Wood, Randy Wells and Rodrigo Lopez on Friday against the White Sox; Ryan Dempster on Saturday; and Matt Garza on Sunday.
* Jae-Hoon Ha will replace Ian Stewart as the designated hitter on Wednesday when the Cubs play the Royals. Stewart started at third on Tuesday, and will be back there Thursday.

I havent seen anything on that lefty the Cubs were to have signed in Cuba and waiting for a spot on the 40 man roster ??
