3/15 Stewart, Barney scratched
Infielders Ian Stewart and Darwin Barney were both scratched from Friday’s Cubs games. Stewart was to have played in Scottsdale against the Rockies but was sidelined with a sore right quad. His status was day to day. Barney was to have started against the Diamondbacks in Mesa but was a late scratch. The second baseman felt some tightness in his left side during a swing in batting practice and was held out of the game as a precautionary measure. His status also is day to day.
