3/24 Mateo update
Cubs reliever Marcos Mateo has been told to shutdown and rest for at least 10 days and then have his right elbow re-examined. He underwent an MRI after he was pulled from Thursday’s game in Surprise. Mateo said Saturday that the discomfort is similar to what he felt last season. He was shutdown last July 5 because of right elbow soreness, and missed the rest of the season.
