6/7 Minor League report

Iowa had Wednesday off, and returns to action Thursday, playing host to Nashville. Chris Volstad (2-0, 4.12 ERA) will start for the I-Cubs.

Trey McNutt gave up three hits over 5 2/3 innings in Tennessee’s 3-2 win over Montgomery. Justin Bour had two hits and two RBIs, and Frank Batista converted his eighth save, throwing 1 2/3 innings of one-run, one-hit relief. Matt Szczur was placed on the disabled list with a strained knee.

Matt Loosen struck out six and gave up three hits over 5 2/3 innings in Daytona’s 4-0 win over Bradenton. John Andreoli had three hits and one RBIs.

Geraldo Concepcion gave up two hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings in Peoria’s 4-0 win over Cedar Rapids. Concepcion struck out four. Taiwan Easterling had three hits including his second homer and Javier Baez had three hits, including a triple.

saw javier baez at kane county last weekend he is a player 3/5 with a long hr sat over message board and another hr on sunday on defense through a runner out at first on ball he got 4 steps in hole on the grass at ss he won’t be at peoria very long
