6/24 Minor League report
Brett Jackson hit a leadoff home run but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost 4-2 to Round Rock. Chris Volstad gave up four runs on six hits over six innings and took the loss. Jackson hit his 10th homer and is batting .259. Ty Wright was 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Michael Burgess hit his sixth homer and Nelson Perez hit his first in Tennessee’s 7-6 win over Jacksonville. Logan Watkins had two hits, including a double and a triple, and scored two runs.
Rob Whitenack threw five shutout innings, giving up three hits, in Daytona’s 7-2 loss to Clearwater. Clearwater scored all seven runs in the eighth. Chad Noble had two hits.
Gerardo Concepcion gave up three runs on five hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings in Peoria’s 4-2 loss to Quad Cities. Zeke DeVoss and Paul Hoilman each had two hits.
Ian Dickson gave up three runs on four hits over 3 2/3 innings in Boise’s 5-4 loss to Eugene. Marco Hernandez had two RBIs.
Mesa totaled 17 hits in a 13-2 win over the Royals. Timothy Saunders went 6-for-6 with three RBIs. Dan Vogelbach had two hits and four RBIs.
