7/4 Minor League report
Randy Wells gave up one run on three hits and two walks over five innings in Iowa’s 3-2 win Tuesday over Nashville. Josh Vitters drove in two runs, and now has hit safely in 15 of his last 16 games. Michael Bowden picked up the save, his first. He has not given up an earned run over 12 2/3 innings in his last 10 appearances.
Trey McNutt gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings in Tennessee’s 11-6 loss to Chattanooga. Michael Burgess had two hits, including a triple, and four RBIs. Logan Watkins had two hits.
Austin Kirk gave up five runs on six hits over four innings in Daytona’s 9-8 loss to Lakeland. Rubi Silva had three hits and two RBIs.
Peoria lost its seventh straight game, 4-1, to Kane County. Joseph Zeller gave up two runs on six hits over five innings.
Ian Dickson gave up three runs on three hits and two walks in one inning in Boise’s 6-4 loss to Tri-City. Jeimer Candelario had two hits and one RBI and Roderick Shoulders drove in two runs.
Izaac Garsez was 4-for-5, hitting his first home run, and driving in four runs in Mesa’s 8-7 loss to the Brewers. Daniel Lockhart had his second straight multi-hit game and drove in two runs.
