7/18 Wells to Iowa DL
Randy Wells was placed on the Triple-A Iowa disabled list on Tuesday, retroactive to July 15. Wells has a right elbow strain. He was 3-3 with a 7.89 ERA in nine starts during three stints with Iowa this season. Wells is 1-1 with a 8.31 ERA in three starts since returning to the Minor Leagues on July 1. In 12 games, including four starts, with the Cubs, he was 1-2 with a 5.34 ERA.
