7/20 Minor League report

Ryan Rowland-Smith gave up five runs, three earned, on seven hits over four innings in Iowa’s 9-1 loss to New Orleans on Thursday. Brett Jackson posted his 24th multi-hit game, going 2-for-4, and Dave Sappelt had his third straight multi-hit game.

Eric Jokisch gave up three runs on six hits over five innings in Tennessee’s 4-3 loss to Chattanooga. Jae-Hoon Ha had two hits and a stolen base.

Austin Kirk gave up five runs on seven hits over five innings in Daytona’s 8-3 loss to Jupiter. Matt Szczur had three hits, one RBIs and one stolen base and Ronald Torreyes had two hits and a stolen base.

Javier Baez had two hits, including his ninth home run, in Peoria’s 4-2 loss to Western Michigan. Baez is riding a season-high 14-game hit streak. Joseph Zeller threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.

Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler went 0-for-3 in his pro debut in Mesa’s 4-3 loss to the Mariners. Daniel Lockhart had one hit, one RBI and one stolen base. Soler was expected to start in the outfield on Saturday.
