7/22 Dolis to Iowa; Beliveau up
Right-handed reliever Rafael Dolis was optioned to Triple-A Iowa and left-hander Jeff Beliveau promoted to the Cubs on Sunday. Dolis was 2-4 with a 6.44 ERA in 27 appearances, and struggled in his last four outings, giving up five runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings. An 18th-round pick in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, Beliveau was 4-5 with a 4.05 ERA in 34 games, giving up 42 hits and walking 17 over 40 innings at Iowa.

I smell trade here…….Beliveau might be part of a trade ….or….Russell is getting traded…..left handed relievers can bring in some future prospects.
But Russell is young (and good) and should be considered part of the Cubs’ future. Why trade Russell for another “Russell”?? and risk waiting TOO long for the new player to “arrive”?? Not saying your thought is bad Cubs Talk, just thinking that Russell (and Beliveau) fits the mold of what Hoystein wants to acquire….and we already have him…
