8/13 Minor League report
Blake Lalli had two hits, including his seventh home run, in Iowa’s 10-8 win Sunday over Las Vegas to complete a suspended game. Greg Rohan had three hits and three RBIs. Jairo Asencio picked up the save. Casey Coleman started the game but had to leave because of soreness in the back of his right shoulder. In Sunday’s regularly scheduled game, Frankie De La Cruz gave up three runs over five innings in a 3-2 Iowa loss. Lalli had two more hits and Scott Maine, recently optioned to Iowa, threw a scoreless inning in relief.
Cuban pitcher Yoanner Negrin gave up one hit over five innings in Tennessee’s 4-0 win over Huntsville. Junior Lake had two hits, Justin Bour drove in two RBIs to reach 100 RBIs for the season, and Logan Watkins scored three runs and stole two bases.
Daytona’s doubleheader Sunday was canceled because of unplayable field conditions, and the games will not be made up. The D-Cubs open a three-game series Tuesday against Lakeland.
Jorge Soler extended his hitting streak to three games in Peoria’s 6-5 loss to Beloit. Starling Peralta took the loss, giving up three earned runs over six innings. Zeke DeVoss had two hits.
Xavier Batista hit two home runs and drove in five in Boise’s 10-9 loss to Salem-Keizer. Wilson Contreras hit his third home run and finished with four RBIs.
Albert Almora had two hits, including a double, and one RBIs in Mesa’s 10-8 loss to the Royals. Almora was batting .304. Shawon Dunston drew three walks and stole a base.
