9/10 Minor League report
Boise had a 7-5 lead after seven innings Sunday night but gave up seven runs in the eighth to lose, 12-9, to Vancouver in the deciding game of the Northwest League championship series. Tayler Scott started and gave up 10 hits over 3 2/3 innings. Dan Vogelbach hit a three-run home run, and drove in another run. Jeimer Candelario had two RBIs and Stephen Bruno had two hits and scored three runs.
“It’s been a [heck] of a year for a lot of the guys who have really overcome a lot of things and matured,” Boise manager Mark Johnson told the Idaho Statesman. “And they’ve gotten a lot better. That’s what it’s all about, improving and learning how to play the game the right way.”
