Why not play Luis Valbueno at 2nd ,Barney at short, and move Castro to 3rd?
Sam, would that be because you lack confidence in Castro’s defense at SS? Because no matter where the THOSE three players play at the same time the team is still left with a huge offensive hole which should be addressed at 3B. The priority shouldn’t be to find a spot for Valbuena, it should be to add power and RBI potential to the infield to go along with Rizzo’s bat. I hope the team adds that elusive power at third base and leave Valbuena on the bench where he would be most useful.
You are probably right , but there are not an over abunddance of power hitting 3rd basemen available.
