I am so pleased that our former athletes are being highlighted at the conference. Theo knows how Boston holds closely their alumni and so many are present at springtraining also. I was worried that alienation between new regime and our respected guys would be a big problem Theo and his young 25 yr old advisors do not have any idea what the above guys mean to many of us. So I throw out a peace branch this day.

Let’s hope that while attending the convention…they are not invited to spring training.

Why not. Sutcliffe and Fergie Jenkins on the mound with Lee Smith waiting in bullpen. Banks and Beckert turning double plays. Randy Hundley and Jody Davis catching duo. Bobby Dernier and Jose Cardenal chasing down fly balls. Billy Williams at the plate. I have to quit–starting to tear up.

Are you able to attend the Convention, Mamma Mia? I hope they put ALOT of pictures and film on the Cubs blog so that those of us who cannot attend will be able to see some of the festivities. Hope the weather will cooperate so that all the guys can get in to Chicago. I remember last year they had their first snow of the season on the day the Cubs arrived. Enjoy, enjoy – all of you who attend.

Hi White–staying in Mesa to watch the early birds work out at Fitch–getting busy here all ready. Weather really cool and windy today but back in 60 degree by Thursday. Convention schedule very interesting and transparent. Little Thepooosis and his advisor–the 25 yr old handling the transparency so some of the question and answer sessions should be fun. I am asking Joey to represent me from the front row with submitted questions–hoping to hear from him favorably.

I hear ya’ loud and clear Mamma….and ALWAYS FAVORABLE!! :) IF I attend, I will have to wear a disguise in case one of my questions reveals my true Identity, just in case “The One Who Shall Remain Nameless” is there, I can’t afford to have him know what I look like, him being so vindictive and all. By the way, what IS “cold” out in AZ this time of year?

Nameless could not catch you anyhow. Cold is below 60 during the day.

Okay – now I am really confused! What in the world are you talking about Joey? Why would you have to wear a disguise? And who is “The One Who Will Remain Nameless”? What a mystery we have here! I’ve got some secrets too – so I guess we shall all remain “in the dark” at some times. LOL Oh yeah – Mamma Mia thinks it is cold in Arizona. HaHa. In the 20′ s and 30′s here in Oregon. Brrrrrrrr

I can just imagine a Q and A session starting and a hand goes up. “My name is Joey and Mamma and I have several questions! Oh, just to be there as security rushes in as a panic button is alarmed blaring horns and automated message that session is over–playing over and over. Bostonian accents resonate from the stage yelling for somebody to hold the elevator. Lovie Smith is visiting and he yells–be cool-lots of teams would like to be where you are at now.

Thanks Mamma, but I think even the forgotten Geovany Soto could have caught me!

Wait, Baez is the 18 yr old, right?
