3/7 Bunting tourney update

Defending champion David DeJesus advanced to the elite eight with a win over Starlin Castro in the Cubs bunting tournament. DeJesus needed 35 points in the final round to beat Castro, and perfectly placed three bunts in a row, first on the “20” spot, then the “10,” then the “5.” Edwin Jackson ousted Casey Coleman, who was the defending champion among the pitchers last year. Jackson will face the winner of the match between Hisanori Takahashi and strength coach Tim Buss.

Here are the elite eight pairings:

David DeJesus vs. Logan Watkins
Michael Brenly vs. Edwin Maysonet

Edwin Jackson vs. winner of Takahashi/Buss
Blake Parker vs. video staffer Nate Halm

Go Nate!!!

Does it worry anyone else that 2 of the 9 still alive in the tourney aren’t signed to player contracts?

It is rather odd isn’t it? But I have already suggested that if Nate the video man wins we need to sign him up immediately.

I’ve got Logan Watkins winning it all. This guy is as hard a worker as I’ve seen in everything he does.

Yay for the video guy!
