3/31 Cubs Opening Day lineup

Here’s the projected Cubs lineup for Monday’s season opener against the Pirates:

CF David DeJesus
SS Starlin Castro
1B Anthony Rizzo
LF Alfonso Soriano
RF Nate Schierholtz
C Welington Castillo
3B Luis Valbuena
2B Brent Lillibridge
RHP Jeff Samardzija

Hate to see a injury, but maybe Lillibridge will take off from getting some playing time!!! Also Valbuena!!

I guess there’s a first time for everything Ray.

It is depressing to see the Cubs doing next to nothing to improve the team. Season after season it just gets worse.

The Cubs are improving the team, but if you don’t follow up on the Minors, you won’t know.
The improvements will be the complete outfield (Almora, Soler, Szczur, Sappelt, Jackson…) and some infield improvements to add to the Castro-Barney-Rizzo mix (Baez, Lake, Villanueva, Candelario,…). This is just a year to sit and wait till those young guys are ready. I expect at least 2 ot them on the roster in September and I hope to see 3 or 4 on next years 25-man roster.

Right on Belgian! Hoystein is well on his way to improving our FUTURE which is soooooo refreshing compared to the spin the bottle approach used by Hendry. We just have to put up with a few years of Hoysteins’ trials on the ML level…

Okay – now I am having a heart attack – AGAIN – Marmol is in the game and in the process of blowing it – AGAIN!!!!!! How much more of this are we supposed to take?????? Okay – Sveum is taking him out! Yahhoo. Samardzija pitches a fantastic game and then we have Marmol loading ’em up. Why? Why? Why?

Fragile egos and tow the line manager!!!
