4/12 Post-game notes

* Starlin Castro extended his hitting streak to six games with his home run in the fifth. He now has four multi-hit games in that stretch.

* Dioner Navarro led off the ninth with a pinch-hit home run off Sergio Romo. It was Navarro’s first career pinch-homer and first by a Cubs player this year.

* David DeJesus notched his second three-hit game of the season, and has nine hits in his last five games.

* Carlos Villanueva has left with the lead in both of his starts, but does not have a decision yet.

* Despite blowing the save, Kyuji Fujikawa picked up his first Major League win Friday, and also got a celebratory beer shower.

* On Saturday, Jeff Samardzija will start in Game 3 of the Cubs’ four-game series against the Giants, facing lefty Madison Bumgarner. First pitch scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CT.

Boy, I couldn’t imagine a “come from ahead” victory like this without the clutch Soriano coming through for us again… SO, GO, SO, GO…. hey! It’s the “Soriano Shuffle” all we need is some music and we have a brand new Cubs dance! Thank goodness our anemic offense won the game before Soriano’s next AB killed the rally!
Well, April is just about half over, maybe Soriano will be generous and get his bat going BEFORE mid-May. One never knows….

Don’t you just love sitting on the edge of your seat every single game? At least today was a winner. No tears tonight. I am a bit worried about our closers. Fuji had such an off day and Marmol makes us quake with fear. Is there any other pitcher who could close for us? I really really like Russell – he has been doing the job so well. Could he switch to closer maybe? I hope Rizzo can get hot at the plate soon. Should be a good game tomorrow with Smardj pitching.

Unbelieveable! Now Fuji is on the DL. And the closer will be WHO? Get out the chocolates, the meds, the kitty songs. Here we go!

2 more losers gregg-loe that way boys

All I can say is Ugh.
