4/17 Minor matters
On Wednesday, the Iowa Cubs game against Nashville was postponed because of rain. Here are Tuesday’s results:
* Brooks Raley threw six shutout innings Tuesday in Iowa’s 4-1 victory over Nashville. Ryan Sweeney hit a triple and drove in one run. It was Raley’s second straight quality start and he’s holding batters to a .182 average.
* Justin Bour, Matt Szczur and Rubi Silva each homered to lift Tennessee to a 4-3 victory over Huntsville. Alberto Cabrera picked up the win, giving up two runs over six innings. Bour, Szczur and Silva finished with two hits each.
* Daytona was rocked for 27 hits by Clearwater, losing 15-6. Javier Baez did hit his second homer of the season, a solo shot in the third. He’s batting .173. Ryan Searle took the loss, giving up seven runs on 15 hits over 4 2/3 innings.
* Gioskar Amaya had two hits for his fourth multi-hit game in Kane County’s 4-3 win over Beloit in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game, Beloit scored seven runs in the second for an 8-3 win. Marco Hernandez, Wes Darvill and Bijan Rademacher each had two hits.
