I think Soriano may be the only clean up hitter in all of baseball that has a chance to DOUBLE his ENTIRE month’s RBI production…..in one game….

Some interesting stats…. baserunners while batting – baserunners who scored – percentage of baserunners who scored… I’ll list them by number of baserunners (top 5 for the cubs and some other cubs players and the 3 and 4 spot guys for the other Central teams)

Castro – 53 – 11 – 21%
Rizzo – 52 – 8 – 15%
Soriano – 49 – 1 – 2%
Castillo – 44 – 5 – 11%
Valbuena – 39 – 6 – 15%
Schierholtz – 39 – 6 – 15%
DeJesus – 26 – 4 – 15%
Lillibridge -16 – 3 – 19%

The league average is 14%, the Cubs average is 11%… seems we got a decent percentage from 1 to 7… except the nr 4 hitter… even the leadoff hitter (who has the batters with the lowest OBP in front of him) has a much better average.

Pirates:
McCutchen – 65 – 11 – 17%
Jones – 49 – 11 – 22%

Cards:
Holliday – 55 – 14 – 25%
Craig – 65 – 18 – 28%

Reds:
Votto – 83 – 7 – 8%
Philips – 90 – 21 – 23%

Brewers:
Braun – 64 – 14 – 22%
Lucroy 54 – 9 – 17%
