5/5 Cubs lineup

The Cubs close their series against the Reds on Sunday, facing tough Mat Latos. Edwin Jackson will try for his first win with the Cubs. We’ll check on Welington Castillo. He fouled a ball off his ankle on Saturday, and gutted it out through the game. Here’s the lineup:

DeJesus CF
Castro SS
Rizzo 1B
Soriano LF
Schierholtz RF
Navarro C
Valbuena 3B
Barney 2B
E. Jackson P

Good Morning Cubs fans: Yesterday’s Marmol disaster was an unspeakable Sveum error! BENCH MARMOL. End of that discussion! I have been thinkling ALOT about why the Cubs are not hitting well this year and 1. We need a new hitting coach. 2. The guys are being “tweaked” out of their “natural rhythm”. Each human being has their own personal rhythm – their inner response to outer feeds. This hitting coach is trying to erase their “personal rhythms” and turning them into little robots. Tweak them here and tweak them there and their response is null. I have seen it happen not only with Barney but many of the other players. It was always a delight to watch Barney at the plate. He had his own “personal rhythm” of twirling the bat over his shoulder before setting in for the pitch. Now they have him standing at the plate like a zombie – no twirling – no setting his OWN inner senses for the pitch. I have been watching players from other teams at the plate. They whirl, they twirl their bats getting set for the pitch. They are being allowed to set their own personal responses before the pitch. Ergo – our hitters are becoming more and more frozen at the plate, They spend their time trying to please the hitting coach’s robotism rather than their own sense of timing. Well, that is my crazy opinion for the day! Love you all. Eamus Catuli
