5/13 Cubs lineup

Luis Valbuena is still sidelined with a sprained right pinky finger, so Cody Ransom gets the start on Monday in the Cubs’ series opener against the Rockies. Travis Wood takes the mound. He has posted a quality start in each of his seven games this year. Here’s the lineup:

DeJesus CF
Castro SS
Rizzo 1B
Soriano LF
Schierholtz RF
Ransom 3B
Castillo C
Barney 2B
T. Wood P

* Kevin Gregg notched his 150th career save, making him the 75th pitcher in Major League history to collect at least 150 career saves. He is 6-for-6 in save situations this season.

We’re six weeks into the season, I believe somebody should tell Soriano he can now start doing his job…

gee thanks for the worth while post

We’re six weeks into the season, I believe somebody should tell Petrey he can now start being polite to others.

Thanks White. And apparently as evidenced by Soriano’s home run and double somebody has indeed shown him a calendar. Good for Soriano, he is getting his hits, getting on base and starting to add to his underwhelming RBI total. And congrats to Sveum who has finally taken winning seriously as he proved by pulling Soriano late in the game for defense. Even a 9 run lead isn’t safe.

ya cause that the first time that has ever happened… you just gotta point something out that’s negative… its never enough.

CUBS WIN CUBS WIN – this is getting to be more fun by the day. Thanks Cubs for a great game. I’m all set for tomorrow.

I actually believe they are doing very well and coming together as a team. Practically the whole first month, minus the Marlins and Pirates, were against Playoff teams from last year. Then you take into consideration, that there is only 3 games against the Astros this year, compared to 15 or so last year. The Astros may have been the only team that the Cubs were over 500 against.
Keeping that in mind, that 8 of their wins were against the Astros, thats at least 5 games they have to make up, to be as good as they were last year. Providing they sweep the 3 game series against the Astros this year.
