I was at the River Bandit/Cougar game in Iowa and have to tell you Almora is looking good, his home run was impressive. “Voglemonster” is a rather large young man with some gut hanging over his belt…not sure where he figures in the Cubs’ future as first base seems to be the only position he can handle. This kid more than likely will wind up being a DH unless he tones up some.

almora and baez need a promotion…. soler needs one when he gets back and is swinging the bat well again

Reported on another site that the Nationals are looking for starting Pitching. They have some good looking prospects ( stat wise ) that I hope Hoyer and his scouting department are looking at.
Look at Rendon 3B at AA and RHP Taylor Jordan. Dixon Anderson RHP and Nieto C at A. Based on age and stats, I would give up both Garza and Feldman for those 4 guys.
Cubs need a very good catching prospect, I think Nieto would fill that wish. The Cubs have three 3B prospects at AA and below if they sign their 1st round Draft pick?? Looking at Rendon’s stats he may be ready for AAA. Then Stewart can be benched and Vitters can stay on the DL as long as he wants.
Pitchers Jordan and Anderson look very good, however any time you trade for or sign a Pitcher, your taking a gamble.

Nieto is a 23 in A+ ball with his best season so far at .773 OPS…… not seeing the “very good” value there… Also I think we got a pretty “decent” C prospect in Contreras. Rendon would be awesome though I am there with you on that one BUT I think the nationals are set on keeping him. I also don’t think you will see Feldman and Garza packaged together… the nationals don’t need THAT much help in the rotation. I would be fine with Cole, plus a couple high upside fillers for Garza from the Nationals (maybe Cole and Karns would be a starting point but I doubt we get 2 Top10 prospects from a team)

They need starting pitching, the Cubs have it. I doubt it also, but I would do those 4 for Garza and Feldman right now. Actually any team that would give up the Pitchers I mentioned, plus someone like Rendon.
The catcher I mentioned is somewhat questionable, but your not going to get a great C prospect with those three for Feldman & Garza. My opinion, the Cubs are very very weak at Catching. I know nothing of Contreras. I do know that Castillo is not that good. Navarro, is not an everyday catcher and also see no one giving any immediate competition.
It is possible that Nieto is starting to get it, if not, throw in another prospect with somewhat chance of making it.
Garza and Feldman would put the Nationals over the top this year, at least I think so.

I remember that comment and the rude (is there any other type?) reply by HWSRN and was hoping to get to see Vogle in person. You pegged him accurately Mamma, nice job. I really don’t see him fitting the future plans of Epstein and suspect the kid will be traded. He is certainly no outfielder but then again that never stopped Hendry from putting people in the outfield that are not outfielders. But Hendry is gone (soooooooo sad……) so Vogle has no chance of being miscast in the majors and more than likely will be traded unless they keep him as a back up plan for 1B.
